Bangkok Citadines, food & more food

Photos from BKK trip last week.
Not much as we took most of the photos with my dad's galaxy note and it was lost.

Previous posts on my usual places-of-visits are here:

Quick dinner at the airport's foodcourt, satisfying my craving for thai's wanton mee!

Surprisingly, the foodcourt serves rather yummy local food.
The mango glutinous rice was good & cheap too (only 70b!)

Stayed at Citadines hotel, as recommended by Sookie.
It's an apartment style hotel under the Ascott Group and their 2-bedroom suites are great for us!
It feels like staying in our own house, while still able to enjoy hotel services <3
Will let the photos do the talking.

Bedrooms are a tad small, like the new HDB housings we have these days.
But there's a spacious living room for us to pack our luggages and just simple lounge around and watch tv at night :)

One of the brekkies at Coffee World.
Coffee World can be found almost everywhere (shopping malls) it seems.
Went to a branch nearby our hotel and it was adjoined to subway.

Subway serves beer there!
At 9am somemore.

Visited the SGI kaikan at wireless road again.

Spent the day at Terminal 21 the next day.
Had lotsa fun taking photos with the different themes/decor on each level.
Unfortunately, none of the pics are in my phone.

Look what's in there!

A flying kangaroo (as the thai calls it), going at 300b!

Okay, kiddin.
This cute lil' thing belongs to a thai customer in the same store as us.
She named it Baby, and was totally acting like a proud mother, showing us the 'pocket' (thus the name kangaroo) of her pet and telling us how lovely it is. So sweet! <3

Ding Tai Feng for dinner at night.
No need introduction for this right? Haha. It can be found at Central World :)

Asiatique again.
More details on it here.

The ferris wheel is operating now!
At 200baht for a 30 mins ride.
That's almost 1/5 the price of the Singapore flyer.

Tried the wanton mee at the eatery square.

Baiyoke Sky. Bangkok Somboon Seafood.

Stayed at Baiyoke Sky hotel for 2 nights in BKK.

The tallest building in Thailand!

That's the sister hotel, baiyoke boutique?

Serivce at the hotel was rather bad, i would say.
Probably cos it's a more popular hotel, hence the long queues during check-in.
'Bellboys' or uncles who are in charge of sending our luggages up after we check-in are EXTREMELY rude.
One of them shouted at me
(this is the first time i actually hear a thai scream out loud at tourists. they've always been so gentle! even when they're unhappy, the most they would do is to be rude in their actions and grumble grumble nia.
but shout? never!)
Unfortunately i couldn't comprehend a word he was shouting about.
Was alone then and frightened to tears :/

That second onwards, i've decided never to stay in Baiyoke Sky anymore.

Still, gonna do a short review of this hotel since many people would still wanna experience staying in the tallest building in thailand at least once in a lifetime.

Baiyoke sky rooms are slightly aged as compared to many other hotels in the pratunam area.
We had issues with dirty bedsheets, pillows, stained towels, spoilt lightbulb, and slimmy 'clean' water complimentary on the hotel.
Gosh.

We called the front desk to feedback, and was direct to the reception then to the 'operations' desk eventually and someone said he'll come up in a while.
Waited for 15mins, no news.
We called again and was told to go downstairs personally.
Okay fine, we went down personally and look for the 'ops' manager but was told that if we're unhappy with the room, they'll change us back to the small deluxe room which we booked instead.
He said that in a tone that seem to suggest that we're not appreciating their oh-so-kind-gesture of giving us a larger room even though it is extremely dirty and we might get food poisoning from the complimentary water.

We told him that we would rather have a clean deluxe room than whatever upgrade shit they gave us instead (okay kiddin, we merely said ok to the original deluxe room.)
He then brought us personally to one of the deluxe rooms at the lower floor.
As we were about to step in, he realised that the room was about booked and beautifully decorated with rose petals etc as if for a newly wed honeymoon.
So he brought us down to the ops desk again.
And claimed that there's no available deluxe room left for us.
So now what?

There was awkward silence for 5 seconds or so.
And either M or the ops manager said, we'll stay with the suite and the cleaners would be sent up to change the bedsheets/water/towels and lightbulb soon.

We waited for another half an hour more before the cleaners/serviceman came to settle the things.
They told us to go on with our planned activities as it was getting late and promised that the room would be cleaned by the time we get back at night.
So we left promptly leaving them to do the necessary.

However, at night when we got back, the hand towels are still unchanged.
We were too tired to call them again, so only used the bathing towels :/

Some pics of the room..

The complimentary postcards are probably the only nice thing in the room.

Fun facts of Baiyoke Sky :)

One good thing about Baiyoke is probably the free shuttle bus service =.=

Was looking through the design catelogue n spotted this paeticular model. So handsome siah :x

After reading so much about Somboon seafood (famous crab curry, good value-for-money seafood in bkk, the confusion between the authentic and fakes, and difficulties in locating the real one cos taxi drivers always seem to bring tourist to the fake branches!), we decided the try it out!
They have 5 branches in Bangkok.
Check out here!

Made reservations at the SamYan branch cos it's located in the an office building, won't get cheated by taxi driver hee.
Also, it's the only branch that opens in the day! Starting 11am.
So do note if u wanna have seafood lunch! :)
Not only those mentioned above, I believe it's the only branch with air-conditioning :p

315 Chamchuri Square Building,
Room 101-102-103 Ground fl.,
Phya Thai Rd., Patumwan,
Bangkok 10330
(MRT SamYan Station)
Tel. 02-160-5100
Fax. 02-160-5099

It's rather near to MBK, and Siam station.
So you can probably walk from MBK if you're nearby that day or take the BTS.

Chamchuri square building is easy to spot.
