Bellabox October 2012

I miss the good skin days! :( Face's been really bad after coming back from China. Pimples, blackheads, white heads, oily T zone, weird bumps on my face. Red rashes/bumps appeared on my back and legs! Gosh.  The environment there is too dusty. I hope it doesn't take too long to recover back to normal since I'm back in sg! Will need to buck up on my skin care routine.
Speaking of skin care, here's my bellabox for Oct! Was expecting it to be real special since it's Bellabox's birthday month (and mine!), and Bellabox had been good for the past few months. So I was hoping for some goodies to pamper myself. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLABOX!

Now, I'm a tad disappointed in these. Probably because it's not exactly the most exciting brand cos I had tried them before. And my mom uses the cleanser and lotion or something.  Just interested in the multi-usage oil. Hope it can save my long hair. I've been too lazy to use conditioner or hair mask for the past few months/one year that it is now beyond hope. Either I find a miracle mask/oil or I save months of daily additional effort to rescue it, or.....chop it off. This luxurious oil from Nuxe can be used without any heating and just a few drops will do! Great for lazy girls like me, hehe.

This came in very handy though! I brought it for my trip instead of bringing my usual full-size makeup remover. Lightened my load quite a bit! :) And I like how it feels on my skin, it's indeed just like water! As the name suggests :) Good for sensitive skin and efficient in removing even eye makeup. Me likey.

Was on my laptop when the Sep's bellabox came! So shall blog about it immediately :) Pardon the low quality pics cos I used my iPhone and my room lighting is kinda dim! I don't usually use perfume. The last i sprayed on my DKNY apple scent was.........a year back or more? :x But I'm gonna use this! Cos it smells of vanilla! I love vanilla scent, but the vanilla perfume in the market usually feels a lil' too old  for me. This one is perfect! Light and sweet! Rimmel Flash Eye Liner  I was just thinking this afternoon, that I need to stock up on my liquid eyeliner before the last one runs out. I can never ever survive without eyeliner haha. And alas! Bellabox came in the evening. And here it is!! I've not used Rimmel before. Will try and review it another time :) Sometimes I really feel that the bellabox girls might be secretly handpicking the items for us. Cos the eye liner is in FLASH BLACK. Perfect choice for me!
One thing though, they could have given one with a more recent manufacturing date? Can eyeliner be kept for so many years? Did a quick google and found that the longest shelf life believed for a liquid eyeliner is 3 years. http://checkcosmetic.net/cosmetic-and-perfume-shelf-life-faq/ So, 2 more months for me to finish this stick! My new look!

Okay, now that i'm blogging about it. I find the look too drama for a casual day :X 

No wonder my mom stopped me from going to visit Adrian's baby right after the photoshoot. Poor baby may just get traumatised and scarred for life. phhhht,drama.

Nevertheless, i love the look Claire (/yan) created!

Short cropped hair, fringe to the side, huge gigantic hair accessory and MOST IMPORTANTLY, i had double eyelids and a sharper nose! :D

Started out early on a rainy weekend morning.

Went School of Make-Up for her bridal makeup/hairstyle portfolio photoshoot.

That's her gorgeous classmate from Ireland!

A model in the past, and now getting hands-on in the 'preparation' work itself. Makeup and hairdo!

Finally! Bushes gone!

She used ampoules on my face too. Not too sure what function is it supposed to have (I was too sleepy to ask in the morning) but it was lovely!

My skin felt so much hydrated. And somehow the effect seems to last and was even more obvious a day after the shoot :)

I must be the most obedient model in the class cos i actually fell asleep while she was doing the makeup for me.

OMG so embarrassing. 

But i was really drowsy :(

Then again, it proves that her skills are good and gentle enough on my face!

When I get my makeup done for any major performances, I usually get poked by the eyeshadow brush because the person thinks that she should plant the eyeshadow into my lids like seeds instead of just brushing it on :0 Makes my eyes hurt so much! And they are often so rough that at the end of the day, my skin feeling like it had been sandpapered thin and tearing.

But with Claire (/yan), it's totally an enjoyment! (That is why i fell asleep!)

Her tiny fingers like a tiny fairies doing magic on my face! lol.

And if you're thinking why fairies, look at how cute and pixie-looking Claire is.

Just from the look of her, you can tell how petite she would be in real life. Those typical adorable tiny girls that never seem to age or overwhelm anyone. How jealous! >.< Haha.

Anyway that's one of the oriental look she did.

One of my favourite looks probably because of heavier makeup that rids abit of the tiredness off my face! :x

She created four different looks in total, in accordance to the bridal theme.

Garden wedding style, Chinese traditional tea reception style, Evening/smoky look, and i forgot what's the last one :X Will definitely recall soon!! Or just wait til the photos are out!

The one i liked best was already seen above, right at the top of the post.

Cos it's extremely different from my usual style. And the makeup made my eyes bigger :D

Went home to remove the make-up before making a trip to my office :/
Wanted to head down directly initially, but was afraid that I would be rejected entry. Ahems.

Double eyelids still there! Teehee.

Settled office stuff and went to visit Adrian's newborn!

My bellabox for May came punctually this time round!Bellabox.sg

Lotsa mailers in a sweet pink envelope. I don't really read those though :X
And as you can see in the right bottom pic, the products now come in a environment-friendly drawstring bag instead of the usual nude pink boxes.Yay to it cos it's so much more convenient to keep the bags than the boxes, and i can use them for my frequent travels! :)

A really good size for toiletries/undergarments/accessories/misc stuffs!

Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment 

I LOVE THIS OIL!Had tried it previously when I got a sample during a Cozycot event. And boy, it was good for my hair!Not oily at all even though it's an oil treatment, which is good for everyone's hair.Also, it comes with a light natural scent instead of chemical fragrance that harms my hair normally.A little drop is enough for 3/4 of my hair (i usually try not to apply it too close to the scalp).The small bottle of sample i had finished around the beginning of the year. Initially I didn't think much of it, and stopped using any treatments after shampooing.However, after i dyed my hair recently, it became so dry and tangled and i was thinking of buying the macadamia oil to treat my hair again.So the sample that is included in this month's bellabox came just in time! :)
 
 
(Before)On top of dyeing, my hair was all tangled and frizzy after using tons of hairspray after a performance over the weekend.I couldn't even comb it properly after wash, despite using the conditioner TWICE.And the combing and brushing was so painful and caused lotsa hair fall :(


(after)Just after one drop of oil, it became much less frizzy.And I was able to comb it properly (yay!).The bunch of the left is still quite dry though, will continue using the oil for the next few days and hopefully it gets better soon!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser with SPF 20 and Foundation Primer

I got to know Laura Mercier before this, while i was searching for concealor and eye cream.

If i remember correctly, the brand is a tad expensive. At least expensive enough for me to not buy and try it despite my super dark circles! :(

Looking forward to trying out the tinted moisturizer!

Kinohimitsu BB Drink

I'm rather surprised that the BB babes would include this in the box. Was expecting only stuffs used on the external such as usual cosmetic and skincare, nail polishes or shoe paddings and hollywood tapes kinda thing. So ya.

It actually taste not bad! As opposed to certain collagen drinks that are usually odd or too sourish that i need to add water to dilute it before drinking.

Kinohimitsu BB drink has a grapey/ribena taste to it :)

Of cos, 2 bottles aren't enough to determine the results it can give. Supplements should be taken long term :)

A simple calculation of the value of the box

1) Kinohimitsu BB Drink (2 bottles)

6 bottles retails for $39.90 and these 2 bottles cost $13.30

VOV Showcase Blusher

 New addition to my makeup pouch!Isn't she pwettty?  VOV Showcase Ball on Cheek (Bebe Pink) Blusher  Just the packaging alone makes me feel dolly enough already!Love the cute little ribbon puff that comes along~

 My camera wasn't good enough to capture the true colours :XCos the pearly balls are actually in pink, white, peach, blue and purple!  Very much similar to Guerlain Meteorites Perles Illuminating Powder:   Just that this cost like, sgd60? So exp!VOV one is roughly half the price of it only :O This pearly balls are blended together with the essence of loose powder to release a powdery and satin veil. Can be used as a blusher or highlighter, it lights up the face in an exceptional manner!Sounds good! Can't wait to use it! :)
