Hong Kong Day 1 - Wimdu apartment, Dim Dim Sum & Royal Dessert

We booked an apartment via Wimdu cos M wants to experience the local living!

After we arrived at Hong Kong ferry terminal at TST, we gave Joyce, our host a call.
She's a Taiwanese, and rents out her HK apartment just like the Taiwan 民宿 style! She has 2 Philippino assistants in HK managing her apartment rentals so I was actually quite glad to hear some familiar English after a long day haha! I believe most of us are used to our Phillipino colleagues and the CSOs in Singapore.

It's actually walkable from the ferry terminal to the apartment, but we had our luggage n it was raining, so we waited for a cab and told Joyce's assistant to meet us at the apartment in about half hour's time.

We were shown the password to the lobby of the building, and given keys for our apartments.

Here's the apartment.

I enjoyed 2 warm morning breakfasts becos of it hehe :)

Headed out again right away for dinner as we were famished.
Thankfully, there's Dim Dim Sum right downstairs across our building! How lucky!

I love this chee cheong fan!
It's smooth and thin on the outside, yet there's a crispy layer right underneath it!

XLB with truffle.

 photo image_42_zps40daa570.jpeg

Quite generous serving of truffle.
But, dunno why their xlb is soup-less one.
Taste is fine, but no soup to slurp. Not shiok! lol.

It's very popular with the local youngsters apparently.
Right after we took this pic, the seats were filled completely and people who just arrived had to squeeze and share tables.

Macau City of Dreams, Senado Square & Ruins of St Paul

Visited the old macau area on our second day in Macau.
We walked to City of Dreams (just on the right of Sands Cotai Central) to take the free shuttle bus to its sister hotel, Li Hua hotel, which is nearby Senado Square.

OOTD :)

 photo image_1_zps71ebed8f.jpeg

Besides the casino, City of Dreams is FULL of DFS stores.
Almost bought bags again :x So tempted by the DFS-only limited edition colours.

There were huge mirrors along the entire stretch too.
We made full use of them :p

From where we alighted (li hua hotel), it's just a 5-min walk to the senado square.

The last I went, I had fun walking down the stretch of shops.
They're designed very much alike to the European streets!
But this time round, the feeling is very different. Everything is so cheena-ish :/
We didn't shop much in the end.

Also, the weather was quite cold and slight drizzling, makes us hungry!
Wanted to try things we have not ate before.
Saw many many stalls selling this curry 'yong tau foo'-like food, and we went to queue for one, like the locals :D

 photo image_12_zps5d52d722.jpeg

 photo image_32_zpsdd908252.jpeg

It says non-spicy curry i think? :)
It taste somewhat like a combination of japanese curry and normal spicy curry!

There's share tea!!
The pearls are abit hard though. But I still like the taste of the milk tea there!

 photo image2_zpscbec10a7.jpeg

Both stalls are located near this monument.

 photo IMG_1001_zpsb8259028.jpg

We made our way straight towards Ruins of St Paul.
Saw a cute durian mascot on the way there, lol.

 photo IMG_1005_zps2267f258.jpg

At the Ruins of St Paul :)

 photo IMG_1014_zps173f3b43.jpg

Ta-dah!

It started drizzling again right after we took this photo.
So we went walking along the street right in front of the ruins of st paul. The entire street sells local products like freshly-made almond cookies, almond flakes butter pastries, egg rolls, hot-from-the-oven portuguese egg tarts whee. I love that street!
All the stores will be busy dishing out fresh cookies/pastries/ba kwa, so be sure to walk the street with an empty stomach! :p
That way, you can appreciate the samples more and buy more souvenirs back mah, haha.

Will blog about Hong Kong in my next entry.
